Basil Alkazzi was a prolific and internationally exhibited artist whose career spanned over six decades. Best known for his luminous gouache works, Alkazzi developed a deeply personal and visionary visual language shaped by cycles of life, memory, and vivid imagery drawn from natural and supernatural worlds. His work explores themes of dreams, landscape, and spirituality, informed by Christianity, Sufism and psychology. Working across mediums, styles and distinct bodies of work, Alkazzi's practice represents a lifelong exploration of meaning, earthly terrains and metaphysical realms.
