Recent Works 1984–1986
Overview
Recent Works 1984–1986 presented a selection of Basil Alkazzi’s paintings from the mid-1980s, a period in which his work was increasingly defined by the use of gouache and mixed media and by a developing interest in symbolic and atmospheric composition. The exhibition was presented across a series of US museums and galleries and forms part of a wider sequence of US presentations during the late 1980s that established his presence within both institutional and private collections. The exhibition toured the following institutions across the United States: Schiller–Wapner Gallery, New York Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, NY New England Center for Contemporary Art, Brooklyn, NY Oklahoma Art Center, OK Robertson Gallery, Beverly Hills, CA
