New York Foundation for the Arts

Basil Alkazzi was a dedicated patron of the New York Foundation for the Arts, providing financial support to assist the organisation in its operations and ongoing programmes. Through his patronage, he established The Basil H. Alkazzi Award for Excellence in Painting and The Basil Alkazzi Award for an Artist in Residence at Wayne State University, supporting visual artists at key stages of their practice. In collaboration with NYFA, he also funded fellowships for visual artists and sponsored tables at NYFA galas, enabling artists to attend these events free of charge and participate in the organisation’s wider cultural community.
