The Basil H. Alkazzi Award (USA) & The Sheldon Bergh Award

A dual award programme supporting emerging American artists through independent funding structures. The awards were designed to give artists extended time and freedom to develop new bodies of work outside institutional pressure.

Recipients include: Kathryn Maxwell, Lisa Nigro, William Steiger, Serena Bocchino, Brian Rutenbergh, Brian Whitfield, Marc Solomon Dennis, Bo Joseph, John Jacobsmeyer, Nan Hass Feldman, Michael Rich, Ellen Fienberg, Sandow Birk, David Brody, Marc Brodsky, Brian Novatny, Josette Urso, and others (1987-2000).
